My name is Pieter Claeys, I am 28 years old and have been living in Amsterdam, The Netherlands for almost 10 years now. I was elected Mr Leather Europe 2009 on the 3rd of October 2009 during the European Confederation of Motorcycle Clubs’ AGM weekend in Rome.
I have a BA degree in Scandinavian Languages and Cultures (University of Amsterdam) and work half time as management assistant at one of the university’s research institutes. I currently also have a half time job as sales employee at Mister B Amsterdam.
In Amsterdam I also work as a volunteer at the non-profit XXXLeather and Furball-parties and am a member of the MS Amsterdam, one of the olders motorclubs for gay men in Europe. Furthermore, when I’m not out in town I like to work on my website about the history of Amsterdam’s leather community, LTHR.NL, a research project I started in June 2008 and on which I was able to graduate in August 2009.
In my free time I like to watch movies, read a book or write or hang out with friends downtown. Other interests include: scandinavian literature and culture, glbt rights and sexual identities and lifestyles.
